The Vibe
Whistling Straits is an engineering marvel. Pete Dye moved massive amounts of earth to create a rugged, Irish-style links on what was once flat farmland. The result is a visually terrifying layout where every shot looks impossible, framed by the infinite horizon of Lake Michigan.
The Vault Line — Bunker Awareness
There are 1,012 bunkers on the Straits course. Many are small 'patches' that don't look like hazards. The 'Dustin Johnson' rule applies: if it's sand, it's a bunker. Don't ground your club anywhere near the sand.

Surviving the 18th (Dyeabolical)
A brutal closing par 4. You must cross a deep creek twice. The landing area is narrow, and the green is set in a massive amphitheater. Aim for the left side of the fairway to avoid the 'Seven Sisters' bunkers.
