The Vibe
The Ocean Course was built to be difficult. Pete Dye raised the fairways so players can see the Atlantic Ocean from every hole, but this also exposes the course to relentless coastal gales. It is a long, intimidating, and visually complex course that rewards only the most precise ball-striking.
The Vault Line — Wind Management
The wind on Kiawah can change by 4 clubs in a single hour. The back nine plays primarily into or across the prevailing wind. You must have a 'stinger' or low-flighted shot in your bag to survive the home stretch.

The 17th Over Water
A terrifying par 3 played entirely over water into a crosswind. The green is long but narrow. Strategy is to aim for the left-front bunker; it's a much easier up-and-down than finding the water on the right.
