The Vibe
Augusta is a botanical garden that happens to have a golf course in it. It is defined by its immaculate conditioning, towering pines, and the ghosts of Masters past. The elevation changes are much more severe than they appear on television, creating a physical and mental test unlike any other.
The Vault Line — The Second Shot Course
Augusta is famously a 'second shot' course. The fairways are wide, but if you are in the wrong spot, you have no angle to the green. MacKenzie's genius was in the greens -- they are so fast and sloped that you must land the ball on a 'dime' to keep it near the hole.
