The Vibe
St George's Hill is the epitome of high-end Surrey golf. Situated within an exclusive private estate, the course is a symphony of dramatic elevation shifts, deep-banked bunkers, and towering pines. The clubhouse, perched on a hill overlooking the 18th green and the 1st tee, is one of the most recognizable in the world. It feels prestigious, perfectly manicured, and exceptionally private.

How To Book
The Estate Key: St George's Hill is a very private club. Visitor play is generally limited to Mondays and Tuesdays, and you must book well in advance. They do not have an automated online visitor booking system for prime slots; email the secretary's office directly.
Insider Tip: Because the course is part of a secure residential estate, you will need to provide your vehicle registration and player names in advance for gate security. Don't just turn up!
Logistics
2026 Green Fee
Typically £250 - £300 for a visitor round. They also offer a 27-hole rate if you wish to play the "Green" nine in addition to the main "Red" and "Blue" nines.
Closest Airport
London Heathrow (LHR) is just 20-30 minutes away. The club is located in Weybridge, one of the most affluent areas of the London commuter belt.
Tactical Strategy
Vertical Thinking: St George's Hill is very rarely flat. You will be hitting many shots either significantly uphill or downhill. Take one extra club for any uphill approach, even if the distance seems short.
The 2nd Hole: One of the greatest par 4s in golf. A downhill tee shot followed by a daunting uphill approach to a green perched on a ridge. Do not miss long; the recovery shot from behind the green is near-impossible.
Insider FAQ
1. Is it a difficult walk?
It's undulating. If you struggle with steep climbs, consider booking an electric trolley. Buggies are available but limited and usually require a medical certificate.
2. How many holes are there?
There are 27 holes in total (Red, Blue, and Green nines). The Red and Blue nines make up the premier championship 18.
3. Can I take photos?
Subtle photography on the course is usually fine, but be mindful of other members. The clubhouse terrace is the best spot for an iconic shot of the 18th.
