Brittas Bay (formerly the European Club) is completely closed throughout 2026. Under the direction of architect Kyle Phillips, the design is being significantly adjusted with native fescue grasses returned throughout the property. The grand reopening is planned for the second quarter of 2027.
The Vibe
The links at Brittas Bay originally gained global fame as The European Club, designed by Pat Ruddy in 1993. It was known as a brutal, breathtaking links set hard against the Irish Sea. Now, the property is evolving. Kyle Phillips has stepped in to adjust the design significantly, bringing back native fescue grasses throughout the property to enhance the natural, rugged aesthetic while refining the strategic challenge. It promises to emerge in 2027 as an even more spectacular and refined championship test.
