The Vibe

Following a monumental merger and redesign by Ogilvy, Clayton & Mead (OCM), PK exploded back into the rankings. The North Course is visually startling: bright white sand flawlessly transitioning into wild, rugged heathland shrubs. It represents the modernization of classic 1920s architecture.

The Vault Line — The Sandy Wastes

Unlike older Sandbelt courses with formal bunkers, PK embraces expansive sandy waste areas extending from the tee box all the way up the fairway corridors. It requires precision driving or you face impossible lies in the thick heathland.

The Access Intelligence

Access Reality

Semi-Private - Stay & Play Lodgings

While fundamentally a strict private club, Peninsula Kingswood built luxury on-site accommodation pods during their renovation. By booking a premium Stay & Play package, visitors are granted full access to the North and South courses, bypassing membership constraints.

Tactical Strategy Guide

Managing the Heathland Transition

PK North features massive scale. The primary strategy revolves around avoiding the pristine white heathland waste areas bridging the fairway corridors. Missing into the rugged bushland guarantees a penalized drop or a brutal pitch back to the fairway.

The Insider FAQ

Can I play without staying at the lodge?

As an uninvited guest, booking a stay-and-play package is essentially the only guaranteed mechanism past the gates. Direct green tee requests from overseas visitors without lodge bookings face severe vetting.

What distinguishes the North from the South course?

The North plays over much larger, more sweeping undulating terrain globally mimicking the grand heathlands of London. The South is flatter, tighter, and traditionally more akin to a precise target Sandbelt layout.

Is the clubhouse really as impressive as advertised?

It is arguably the most luxurious modern clubhouse constructed in Australia this decade. The multi-million dollar renovation established a standard of resort country-club dining and facilities previously unseen in Victoria.
